Baldock Cannon F.C. started back in 2002 after previously being Baldock Youth F.C. in the North Herts League. In that previous year under the guidance of Managers Barry Rainbow and Roger Elias they took the team in their first season to the final of the Greg Cup where unfortunately lost 4-1 to a strong Fishers side. Since then the club has come on in leaps and bounds and has began to blossom as Baldock Cannon F.C. In seasons past they have managed to upset the odds on many occassions, constantly producing some good local players. Eventually in Baldock Cannon's last season in the North Herts League they got their just rewards by winning the Premier Division Cup 1-0 against a resolute Woolmer Green.
Baldock joined Hertford and District League for 2005/2006 season and although having to work their way through the ranks made a comfortable start topping Division 3, losing only only 1 game in the process (Though the league was already won at the time of the loss). Things went a little differently in the cups losing to a late goal in the league cup, but certainly surprise a few people when they took multi time County Cup winners Bengeo Trinity to the wire in the Q/F's of the Jubilee cup only to lose in the last kick of extra time to a dubious penalty decision.
Season 2, 2006/2007 in the Hertford & District League proved a little bit more testing for BCFC, but new signing Ryan Barrett and the returning Paul Wright gave the team a stronger squad. Phil Hitchock broke the goalscoring record by hitting 26 and was well aided by both Wright and Dean Stevenson. Another record was broken when BCFC hit 11 goals past Parklands and Baldock yet again ended up comfortable Division 2 winners despite a couple of hiccups. It was however not to be BCFC's year in the cup's going out to Greenbury Utd in the County Cup, although getting revenge later that season in the Jubilee Cup only to be knocked out in the Semi Final by a strong Harlow Link FC. It was also a semi final knock out in the League Cup as BCFC struggled all season to beat Inter Res, but thankfully eventually got a 2-0 win as the season closed.
2007/2008 brought the clb more success with the team doing a League and Cup Double. More new faces appeared in the squad late in the season in the shape of Jack Gregson and Rhys Davies both of whom scored in the Cup Final win over Buntingford Wanderers.
BCFC now start a new era in the Divsions top flight for 2008/2009 as well as fiedling a Reserve Team in Division 2 which will be run by Wayne Cortnage.
With a Reserve Team now in place BCFC looked to become a stronger more established Club. The 1st Team had their fair share of woes with a very indifferent 1st season in the League's top division, with the likes of Phil Hitchcock, Chris Bibby & Dean Stevenson missing for alot of the season and unable to field the same 11 week by week league results weren't up to scratch, however good results over 3 of the top 4 including a win a & a draw at home to Bengeo saw a mid table finish. Despite the league problems BCFC 1st team progressed well in the cups reaching the League & Jubilee cup final losing one in extra time, as well as a good performance especially by keeper and captain Gary King in the County Cup losing out the the cups eventual winners.
In contrast the Reserves made easy progress in League competitionwith thumping results against the likes of Mangrove Res and Deaconsfield and a superb away victory v Hertford Celtic Res, despite having 7 players absent. The cups didn't go so well with defeats to EAOB 'A' & Westmill Res knocking them out of the League & Reserve cup's respectively. However strong battling saw them finish runners up in their 1st season which has been rewarded with a 2 league jump to Division 1.
This season 2009/2010 saw Wayne & Cotty continue their good work with the Reserve Team, Chairman Paul Rainbow steps back from the Secretary's job which will be taken over by Barry Rainbow and a new Management Team of BCFC stalwarts Gary King and Adam Walker take up the 1st Team helm. It was a relatively quiet year for the Club and despite both teams making Cup Semi Finals the transitional period seemed to slow things down a little with both teams also finishing in respectable mid table finishes.
2010/11 see's another change as Barry Rainbow returns to assist John Cotterell with the Reserve Team management whilst trying to bring some of the younger members through into the 1st Team set up.
