TEAM HISTORY
Baldock Cannon Football Club History (00/00/00)

Baldock Cannon F.C. started back in 2002 after previously being Baldock Youth F.C. in the North Herts League. In that previous year under the guidance of Managers Barry Rainbow and Roger Elias they took the team in their first season to the final of the Greg Cup where unfortunately lost 4-1 to a strong Fishers side. Since then the club has come on in leaps and bounds and has began to blossom as Baldock Cannon F.C. In seasons past they have managed to upset the odds on many occassions, constantly producing some good local players. Eventually in Baldock Cannon's last season in the North Herts League they got their just rewards by winning the Premier Division Cup 1-0 against a resolute Woolmer Green.

Baldock joined Hertford and District League for 2005/2006 season and although having to work their way through the ranks made a comfortable start topping Division 3, losing only only 1 game in the process (Though the league was already won at the time of the loss). Things went a little differently in the cups losing to a late goal in the league cup, but certainly surprise a few people when they took multi time County Cup winners Bengeo Trinity to the wire in the Q/F's of the Jubilee cup only to lose in the last kick of extra time to a dubious penalty decision.

Season 2, 2006/2007 in the Hertford & District League proved a little bit more testing for BCFC, but new signing Ryan Barrett and the returning Paul Wright gave the team a stronger squad. Phil Hitchock broke the goalscoring record by hitting 26 and was well aided by both Wright and Dean Stevenson. Another record was broken when BCFC hit 11 goals past Parklands and Baldock yet again ended up comfortable Division 2 winners despite a couple of hiccups. It was however not to be BCFC's year in the cup's going out to Greenbury Utd in the County Cup, although getting revenge later that season in the Jubilee Cup only to be knocked out in the Semi Final by a strong Harlow Link FC. It was also a semi final knock out in the League Cup as BCFC struggled all season to beat Inter Res, but thankfully eventually got a 2-0 win as the season closed.

2007/2008 brought the clb more success with the team doing a League and Cup Double. More new faces appeared in the squad late in the season in the shape of Jack Gregson and Rhys Davies both of whom scored in the Cup Final win over Buntingford Wanderers.

BCFC now start a new era in the Divsions top flight for 2008/2009 as well as fiedling a Reserve Team in Division 2 which will be run by Wayne Cortnage.
